Debt Consolidation Application Declined? Now What?

The fact of the matter is a cold, brutal fact that every one that ask for and needs it is not going
to get it. It happens every day and it might have even happened to a friend of yours. Even
worse, it might have even happened to you.

If you have already gotten yourself in over your head with your debt, it might happen to you
again. Each institution uses a different set of guild lines to determine who is an acceptable
risk. This is good news for you because there is no reason to give up hope if you are denied
by one. You will need to find a company whose criteria matches your debt. Your best hope is
to just keep trying untill you find a good match.

With the economy currently in a mess and companies having to write off more bad debt than
ever this is a hard economy to look for help but trying is the only way you will be able to find it.

Why Did You Get Denied

If you got denied it is not a total loss. Don't just dismiss the institution and move on. Make
the time you spent filing out the forms worth your while. Call the institution up and ask why.
Under the law they have to tell you why and that information might prove very helpful later.
They will not mind telling you the reason. They don't know you so in the end they were just
following the rules they have to abide buy.

Now it is time to move one and try another institution. If you can fix what was wrong then do
it before you apply again but if not you now know what it is that might disqualify you. Maybe it
will not be as big of an issue for this lender.

The real goal here is trying to find the perfect match for you. If your debt-to-earnings ratio
was too close for one lender then it is simply a matter of finding a lender with a different ratio.
By doing that you should get approved and get your consolidated loan.

There are a lot of lenders out there and they do fight to make loans: that is what they do.
Your key to success is to keep trying untill you find your perfect match.
